We had the Organizational Committee meeting for our 2012 RHS Class of 1972 40 th Anniversary Reunion on Saturday, March 10 th at the home of Ronnie & Lynn McLeod.
The date and location for the Reunion are Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the home of Ronnie & Lynn McLeod. We considered dates in the May-June time frame and arrived at June 9 th as the best choice to avoid conflict with Memorial Day, graduations, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc.
Present for the meeting were Ronnie & Lynn McLeod, Ronnie & Susan Thomas, Mae Jo & Russ Jeffers, and Leigh & Louis Keith.
For the reunion set up, the men will be gathering at noon on Friday June 8th to bring in and set up tables and chairs. The ladies will be taking care of decorations.
Susan Thomas will be finding a caterer and coordinating the menu, delivery and set up for the food.
Mae Jo and Leigh are getting the decorating materials and coming up with a decorating plan.
Leigh has also been very active in locating our missing classmates.
Lynn will be taking care of hors d’oruvres and general hostess duties.
Ronnie T will be doing invitations and party favors, Ronnie M will be doing whatever Lynn tells him to do.
Of course, there’s a lot to be done and any committee member could use help.
We toured Ronnie & Lynn’s beautiful home and found that it is well suited for our gathering. They have plenty of outdoor space (around their pool) for setting up tables for eating and socializing. They also have ample indoor space in case of inclement weather and plenty of space for parking.
The rough agenda so far is:
5:00 – Gather and socialize
6:00 – Gather Class Alumni for picture immediately followed by Call to dinner, recognition of guests and invocation
7:00 – Brief program followed by Classmate Update (we’d like to hear what everyone has been up to)
With the exception of the date & place, we’re open to suggestions and would like your feedback.

Our 40 th Anniversary Reunion was a resounding success with 46 classmates and guests in attendance. Reunion Chairman Thomas reported that our Flower Fund has an available balance of $1014.00. In the past five years we’ve sent flowers to the funeral of Classmate Randy Nail for a total expenditure of $50.00.
The combined caterer’s bill for the 2012 Reunion was $1220.18 ($1140.38 for Steeplechase and $79.80 for Harry’s BBQ). Decorations were $98.92, and party favors were $70.23 for a grand total of $1389.33 which was covered completely by donations.
